A chrome egg cracking open — something new is hatching

Careers

Some things in communication haven’t changed in decades.

We’re about to change one of them, and we’re looking for a high-performance full-stack engineer to accelerate growth with us.

Scailarc is a Finnish, Espoo-based startup creating a new medium on top of a technology billions of people use every single day. We are already deep into building it — our first proof of concept lands in September. Now we want to take it much further, much faster. That’s where you come in.

We can’t say much publicly. What we can say:

  • Nobody has done this before. There is no playbook and no competitor to copy.
  • The ambition is global from day one.
  • You’d be one of the first engineers, working directly with the founders.

What we’re looking for:

  • You bring more than technical skill — entrepreneurial drive, a get-it-done attitude, proactivity and the ability to think strategically
  • You’ve shipped full-stack products end to end and can own a whole system
  • You’re comfortable when there’s no tutorial for what you’re doing
  • You want to build a category, not a feature

What you’ll be working with

A unique build spanning edge networking, low-latency web apps and modern distributed backend architecture — high-impact systems at the intersection of real-time communication, applied cryptography and agent-driven engineering workflows. If you enjoy working across the full stack, from native mobile components down to cloud infrastructure, this role offers plenty of technical depth and room to own critical architecture.

Frontend & runtimes

Node.js, TypeScript, raw DOM manipulation, and native WebView/mobile bridging mechanisms.

Edge & crypto

Real-time communications (WebRTC Data Channels/SCTP) and modern applied cryptography (PKI, envelope encryption).

Scalable backends

Distributed systems design with polyglot environments (experience with languages like Go or PHP/Symfony is a plus).

Infrastructure & AI

Cloud IaC (AWS/GCP) and leveraging agentic AI tools to accelerate development and CI/CD pipelines.

If this sounds like your kind of engineering challenge, or you know someone who fits, send us a message. We’ll share the full spec sheet and tell you the rest in person.
